16.3.4.9 Rekindling the Forge of Minderhal/Torag Report
General Summary
The ghost of Jahlvoraz Speaks before his spirit departs.
You have done well in slaying my half brother and myself. I have watched your travels since you left the Forge, a full score days ago. I choose not to interfere in your task to gather the ancient relics, as I miss the warmth of young Minderhal’s Forge fires. If i had had a choice i would not have attacked you today this 13th day of Kuthona. The dragon looks sour-fully at the heroes gathered below its ghostly form and continues. Many moons ago (27 in fact) multiple flights of both Chromatic and Metallic dragons attempted to assault the Storm Tyrant’s floating stronghold under the command of the Wyerleader. The battle was going well, the dragons laying waste to most of the giant defenders of the fortress. We did not account for allies, nor the sheer power of them. Multiple Portals opened throughout the stronghold, out flew swarms of Abolyth’s coming in response to a magical alarm spell. The Abolyth Prime arrived thru a tear sideways in space, accompanied by three score strange twisted cymerias an a score of deep ones bearing Orbs of Dragonkind of every color. Those of us that were not outright slain were forever bound by the orbs powerful magics. I know not how many of my cousins remain bound to the orbs, nor if the orb bearers are still within the fortress. I know The Abolyth Prime makes its headquarters to the west within the heart of the Storval Plateau. Bowing to the heroes gathered below once more. Thank you All for granting me mercy with your bow. And warn you that as you head deeper into Volstas domain that you can not trust many of my .. cousins. Taking in all that we have accomplished. We have done alot for this region. Every threat within the roughly 3200 square mile are has been dealt with beside the ogre spiders and the golden gorgers. Whats that climbing up below us?
A small elven female is observed scaling the tower.. free climbing up the side of the tower is Giggety. Daemon speaks to the winds and steps off the tower, walking upon the air until he gets down to her.. asking in elvish if she needs a hand.. Giggety asked who he was and stated she will make it to the top. He says very well and walks back up to the top, letting the others know that they will soon have company. Moments later a pair of weathered hands came over the edge... heaving herself over she groans "everyones dead," and collapses. Zaxel douses her in 24 gallons of water. Upon her recovery Daemon questioned her to find out who every one.. promptly informing Giggety that Vo'Gart has been resurrected so not all of them are dead.. Adler, once the elvish is translated says any friend of vo'gart the friend of yours is a friend of mine. Then Zaxel speaks the prayer of comprehend languages and the four of them head down the tower stairs back into the Forge. Speaking with Greg Thomas (from PFS) a scout from Not Magnimar.
Greg had been sent west from Janderhoff to scout out the mindspin mountains for potential allies, resources, war materials, and well anything that will be useful in the coming wars. He offered to speak with his leaders about the services of the dwarven troops.. and the Boggards that are all united in the kingdom of Not Magnimar to the west. Intrigued the heroes decide to head west. Speaking with shinnnerman the noble lord.
He agrees to move the village closer to the forge and will bring all fifty of his citizens to the old mine that the drakes were living in. Hopefully they will be able to get it operational in short time to be sending ore to the forge. They were warned about the giant ogre spiders the size of elephants. Speak with Vo'Gart
When the heroes and new companions arrive at the base of the tower, Daemon told Vo'gort that he is not alone One more of his company has survived stepping away to reveal Giggety standing behind him. She snaps to attention saluting with her bow and taking a knee. She says "im sorry" he tells her to stand up and that its not her fault. She remains on her knee. Daemon tells Vo'Gart to remain at rest.. after the nights rest he will teleport him and his scout back to wherever they needs must go. Rekindle the forge.
First we Lined the furnace with almost all of the sacred clay we got from the Temple of Fandara, that only took about an hour.
Then we crushed and scattered all of the fire geodes inside the furnace in a pattern of star bursts and mountain patterns.
Third.. The Horn was sounded by Daemon he gave a great performance.
From the Frozen Lake to the southwest a flight of River Drakes takes flight.
From the Swamps to the southeast a flight of jungle drakes takes flight.
From the Grove to the Northeast a flight of Fire Drakes takes flight.
all of the drakes arrive together in the midsts of a swarm of psydodragons..
The ice and acid grind the rest of the geodes into a fine sand.
Etena holds alof the Mithril Tablet containing Rosag's blessing.
Blessing Complete Etena requests the hammer from Zaxel.. He Enlarged himself twice using both the hammer and the armor so he was almost as tall as Etena. Zaxel hands her the hammer over the anvil without even questioning her suggestion. The Slag is burned off the Forge. From the slag around the forge, not one, not two, not three, not even four but F I V E oozes take form from the slag and try to attack us. Adler and Giggety both take shots at different slag's with drastically different effects, Etena uses the Hammer to Enlarge the slag's, varr'os takes fire at the same one Giggety shot and E'Luna moves south out of the reach of the ooze's Daemon pulls forth a vial of the thickest blackest goo that any of us have ever seen. throwing it upon four of the Slags they are wrapped up in inky tentacles and slowed down.. only being able to move or attack once every six seconds! that will hopefully make the battle easier. Adler lets loose another volley of arrows quenching the northern most ooze. Giggety shots again at the south one her arrows being incinerated within the flaming aura of the oozes. Varr'os keeps focusing fire with Giggity, his bullets doing what her arrows cannot. Luna rides south and starts to circle the anvil. Zaxel creates 24 gallons of water over the head of one of the oozes, helping to quench it. Daemon casts greater invisibility and disappears from sight. Two of the slag oozes move, the other two attack zaxel with one of their blade tentacles. Adler Fires another volley almost dropping another Slag, and slips into the secret passage down to the forgeheart hearing a noise he runs down the stairs.. discovering Farrin bound and gagged. "Etena has gone crazy seeing the Hammer and knowing that you have all the components to rekindle the forge. She was going to make me the first sacrifice. " Adler frees her, Adler saved a giant.. whats up with that? Meanwhile the rest of us continue fighting. More water from Zaxel, the slags hit him twice, etena swings the hammer at zaxel missing. Giggety and Varr'os continue focusing fire on the other south slag.. finally dropping it. She runs to the north side of the alter. Daemon moves about though we cant see where he is. Luna and Varr'os continue moving and shooting at the slag, Giggety tries, but her string snaps. We need to get her a better bow.. Adler comes up the stairs and tells us that Etena has gone crazy and we need to kill her shooting one arrow into her. Daemon moves closer to Zaxel preparing a spell. Etena get a good hit off on Zaxel, the oozes also both hit him. Adler fires a full volley into Etena between those shots a dagger from Giggety and Zaxel's mithril hammers Etena dies. THe rest of us focus on one more of the Slag.. Dropping it.. Pour Giggety her crude arrows just wernt up to the job in combat. She almost snaps another bowstring. Daemon sneaks up to Zaxel grabs him by the hands and tells Zaxel to make himself smaller so that Daemon can move it. Daemon casts reduce person, zaxel removes both of his enlargement prayers turning himself into tiny sized gnome.. almost small enough to fit into one of daemon's pouches. They step though the world sideways and appear across the chamber. Zaxel lets go of Daemons hand and goes running full speed to leap over the pews like a skipping stone. almost returning to where daemon took him from. Between all of us we manage to finish off the remaining two Slag Ooozes in short matter. The Battle being over.. We all gather at the Anvil and a Trick is revealed.. partially. With the Forge fully activated Farrin has been instilled as the new Keeper of the Forge, as it needs a Priestess (not a priest) of Minderhal to fully function properly. When she takes control of the Anvil, the stones within the forge building are transformed new again, as though they were newly carved. With a thunderous roar the exhaust vents kick into action, the towers stacks billow forth blackened smoke into the sky. A bolt of brilliant blue lightning strikes down from the cloudless sky.. striking the top of the tower wrapping its way around the outside of the Forge to launch itself from the building out into the midst of the encampment of giant recruits that were mustering up to try and charge into the tower. The Lightning does no damage to them.. but strikes the fear of all the gods into them.. and the giant recruits run off.. a good half being trampled by the others in their haste to scattered to the winds. After that.. all the others gathered around the forge to start to resize the significant pile of arms and armor we have looted from the giants. E'luna surprised us all. She shapeshifted from the Dire Wolf form into that of the Stone Giant Elder Iuu, Keeper of the Yodeling Grove. WHAT? Umm What? What the Eff? He tells us that E'luna had some wolfee business elsewhere that was very pressing and he has be pretending to be her ever since she became a large sized wolf. Both to observe us and our actions within the Shrine of Fandarra and within Minderhal's Forge.. E'Luna will return to us on our travels over the next few days. In the meanwhile could we accept Silvermanes apprentice Giggety in her stead. .....What the ever living heck is going on with things here... Zaxel Plans to spend all of tomorrow attempting to created a sacred place dedicated to Brigh within the Forge near the Anvil. The rest of us are going to take tomorrow and get drunk as heck on the Mossmead mushroom wines.. and spend some time talking with each other after we bury all of the dead.
