Artio

Book and Coin purse, quill and spectacle, Artio’s symbols are many. Born of Braeselus and Amala, Artio is their eldest shared child. His temples are far more dedicated to their large, expansive libraries and rows of classrooms. Artio’s temples are located in every major city in Dovolurit, though are rarely found outside of them. Personal libraries held by the wealthy, however, frequently have altars to Artio in them. Most wealthy merchants also keep personal altars within their shops or on their ships. Educations are found in the temples of Artio, though only at the cost of regular offerings to the church. Offerings are frequently expensive things: books, brass scales, etc.   Artio’s clergy wear blue robes tied at the waist with gold cord. From that cord hangs a heavy coin purse, and from a chain around their neck hangs a pendant, small book carved of silver and gold. They are frequently seen carrying a ledger and quill, prepared to write down whatever information they are presented with.   Artio is portrayed as a slender, scholarly man with short hair and thin-framed spectacles. His hands hold a heavy looking coin purse and a large tome. He is husband to Munsia, and it was his cleverness and jealousy of her love for Praeleg that cursed them to be forever apart.
