Tajus Star System

In the mid 21st Century humanity was fighting against extinction. Our expansion into the stars ended destructive practices on Earth such as mining and fossil fuels. The immediate environmental impact prevented a global collapse and generated a new tech boom. However, unemployment and over-population soon devastated virtually every economy. Massive tent cities sprouted in and around every major population center as the homeless and starving overwhelmed spaces and services. The United Nations Space Exploration Agency established permanent colonies on the moon, Mars, Titan, Io, Calisto, Ganemede, Venus, Uranus, and Neptune.       One of the technologies resulting from that tech boom that allowed the colonization of the most distant planets in our solar system was fusion. This revolutionized power production and reduced travel times from decades to months. This arguably led to the "discovery" of cryogenics which allowed the long term hibernation of any living organism known to man. Cryogenics became the short term solution for Earth's problems.        In the mid 22nd century the Earth Interstellar Commission, along with other agencies from around the Sol system, discovered anomalies appearing at random positions throughout the system. Expeditions through the anomalies led to the discovery of the Tajus star system and a fresh start for humanity. Time was against them however, as lax regulations on Earth allowed the Singularity to occur on the moon. The unbeatable AI caused a mass exodus from Earth through the anomalies. Shortly thereafter, the anomalies collapsed and left all of those who went through to the Tajus Star System.
