Adari Irthorachkar

Doctor Adari Irthorachkar

Introducing herself as Irthorachkar Adari, it tends to eventually slip out that she's a college teacher. Well, was a college teacher. That's why she originally came to the Central Capitol, but plans have a way of changing when you realize - somewhere along the line of getting filled with bullet holes, miraculously surviving and joining a rebel organization - that you're probably not academically credentialed in this province anymore.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Rather on the short side for a dragonborn, Adari lacks the muscular build displayed by many others of her species, but otherwise looks extremely reminiscent of a silver dragon.

Body Features

Standing on digitigrade legs and feet at a lofty five feet and four inches, rare is the crowd Adari can see over without vertical assistance. Her hands/paws have three fingers and a thumb each, and her frilled tail is long enough to readily drag on the ground and get in the way of passersby if she ever forgets to mind it. Her neck is a few inches longer than most humanoids, especially ones her height.

Facial Features

With mirror-gleaming green eyes gazing beyond a decent length of muzzle, she lacks the stiff chin frills of most silver dragons. A pair of curled-over earsails frame her face below two black horns and the prominent frill of dark iridescent silver rising between them, which seems to go all the way down to her tail. Her eyes, earsails and frill represent the majority of her facial expressiveness, since although she has a broad smile to accompany her laughs, the rest of her face has a certain stoicism common to strongly dragon-blooded folk.

Identifying Characteristics

Her frill looks somewhere between that of a silver dragon and a green one, alternating between stiff-looking combs of membrane and long anchoring spines. It's been shown to be quite flexible. At the front end of it, dangling over her muzzle-bridge, is a curled offshoot strand of those deep silver combs which curls either up or down depending on the day and whether she slept on it.   But I mean she's silver as hell dog

Physical quirks

She's very slight of frame for a dragonborn, having traded most physical play and roughhousing for mental indulgences in her youth and adolescence. Her eyes appear to have metallic green sclera and pupils that are difficult to locate for most.

Special abilities

Adari has the gift of psionics, and seems specialized in abilities involving learning and travel. She's never been of a mind to use her abilities for harm, so having been brought to do so is a development she's still grappling with. Having also recently discovered she's a medium with the capability to see and speak with lingering souls, she is finding herself with plenty of new concepts to cope with lately.

Apparel & Accessories

Blues, greens and purples are Adari's favorite colors to wear. In 'professor mode' she might wear modest dresses or professional (awful) pantsuits. She owns a set of more rugged clothing for traveling which makes her look like she thinks she's some kind of adventurer - a fashion choice carried over from her days traveling with a caravan, at one time filled with bullet holes but recently repaired. Lately she tends to dress much more casually as is practical for living and working on the streets of a more urban environment - jeans, skirts, shirts, blouses. The consideration of practical dress does not stop her from sometimes wearing something pretty, especially to see the boyfriend. Adari does not tend to be seen wearing shoes of any kind, though she does own a pair of sandal-like footwrappings with tough soles for instances where it will make sense. She wears two bracelets - one featuring intricate silver craftsmanship and a motif of a focused eye, the other seeming to be a simple charm bracelet. Finally, she sometimes dons an ugly magic hat, but takes it back off as soon as she is done using its magical disguise properties.

Mental characteristics

Gender Identity

She/Her

Sexuality

We only know she's hopelessly twitterpated over Talhan and is a nerd.

Education

She's made mention of having gone to college ("Steppe"), and also taught at college, but more specific detail hasn't come up in conversation. It's apparently appropriate to refer to her as Doctor Irthorachkar Adari, or perhaps Professor Irthorachkar, or why not Irthorachkar Adari, PhD.

Employment

Last place of work was the Nancledra Community College. Talhan sort of did hire her for some casual freelance work, which almost immediately fell by the wayside when they agreed to date.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Has at least one doctoral degree. Also held a position of enough rank to have been traveling to the Central Capitol for the purpose of arguing for the funding of the school she taught at.

Mental Trauma

Self esteem issues related to some shit she internalized when she got treated poorly by certain clanmates, young and old, in her youth - first for not seeming able to grasp magic, and then when it came out that she was psychic instead. Still sometimes has difficulties taking pride in herself, despite tangible achievements and demonstrably extraordinary capabilities.

Intellectual Characteristics

Absolutely loves to learn, whether this is by reading, by doing, or by being told about something. Happy to hear from someone about what they're enthusiastic about. Very passionate about helping others to learn things too.

Morality & Philosophy

Seems to care very deeply about family, including found family.

Taboos

Does not tell just anyone about her psionics.

Personality Characteristics

Hygiene

Keeps herself quite neat, given the option.

Social

Contacts & Relations

[Still needs to be properly filled out] Party:
  • Desiel: They've sure risked their lives together a lot by now, but Adari feels she could stand to know Desiel better. Gotta be more to this fella than capes, having a brother and being an ex-cop.
  • Dotti: Who is this dried-up banana granny cosplayer anyway? Glad to (sort of, but maybe not really) help figure out a liked name.
  • Rook: Hey look, someone else with a tail who gets it if I gripe about available seating!
Copper Fangs and base residents:
  • Bernard: Adari wants badly for him and Penny to have a chance to know each other, but...well. He clearly means well but has entirely too much to deal with. Considers him a great friend, especially after what they went through together.
  • Bolo: C'mere you big sweetie I'm gonna squish your cheeks blublublublbubblblbblbl
  • Comet: Cannot tell if she'll be more or less trouble when she stops being a banshee. Genuinely likes her now that she's met the lucid version of her, though.
  • Dizzy: Adari thinks she's pretty dang cool and senses a kindred spirit. Seems like they'd have a lot to talk about if they ever both had the time. Hopes to end up having the time to help her with Comet.
  • Flea: Fascinated by his unique magical problems but also genuinely considers him a friend.
  • Gal'resh: Knows enough to trust him. Could stand to know 'im better, but he's so rarely present and awake.
  • Melorin: Friends, though Adari has the sense she sorta fucked up and isn't sure how to make it right.
  • Miyama
  • Penny: can_of_worms.jpg
  • Ray and Little Lady: Adari thinks it's kinda cute how she goes around and is social at people so he doesn't have to be.
  • Rembrandt: The rudest person Adari'd sincerely call her friend. Proud of her progress.
  • Sol[WHAT is that correct spelling again...]
  • Tinley: That guilty feeling you get when someone totally had the hots for you but you got with somebody else and now you're Just Friends and it's Not Weird, Okay. Also genuinely a good friend though.
  • Wheeler: Man if she wasn't so busy all the time Adari imagines she'd be a lot of fun to talk shit with. Hey please don't rob my boyfriend's house.
  Others:
  • DJ: Probably half her students would like their work.
  • Fina: The one tailor in the world she feels she can trust the most.
  • Mango: Always happy to see her, in that sort of bittersweet way.
  • Morgan Marigold: [Discomfort]
  • Oum: [Distrust]
  • Piper: Would love to know her more, if partly to figure out whether she's the kind of nerd that Adari'd get on well with or if she'd be better pals with Tinley someday.
  • Rascal: I think we're actually friends by now?
  • Seladi: Hot damn would it be preferable to do more than keep her company once or twice a week.
  • Talhan: <3

Family Ties

A member of the Irthorachkar dragonborn clan, of which at least one other member is currently in the Central Capitol - her mentor and/or godmother, Seladi.

Religious Views

She's mentioned Nulain with no small amount of reverence. She favors Hlal too. Seemingly trying to establish some kind of relationship with Null, what with the whole talking-to-lingering-souls thing.

Social Aptitude

Readily speaks in social situations, possibly from being used to being the one in the room who should be talking. Got a real knack for putting her foot in her mouth, but seemingly only when she is trying very specifically to be considerate.

Hobbies & Pets

While it's been difficult to find time for hobbies lately, we know she loves to read. Gosh that Bolo is pretty dang cute though ain't he.

A dragonborn well into adulthood, Adari's strongest lineage is obvious in her reflective silvery scales. She cares deeply for the educational opportunities of others. While a natural psionic, her achievements have been mostly academic, until lately.
