The Szoltag
Daria's secret council
Information available for public disclosure
Unchallenged & Unquestioned
The Szoltag functions as the topmost body of authority in all of The Federation of Daria, regardless of region. The Szoltag's members hail from all the Darian regions. However, every region is represented with a specific number of members depending on the influence and population of the community in question. While the Szoltag is responsible for filling the void when a lower, or a local, council fails to reach a resolution, it also handles several day-to-day disputes between prominent governing figures. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the Szoltag has the full authority to interfere in any matter, be it mundane or alarming, how ever it sees fit.
An Invisible Hand
Rumors about the Szoltag are fairly common in this part of the world. This can ultimately be attributed to how the Szoltag functions: It rarely affects the citizens of Daria nor does it interfere with their daily lives. The Szoltag is often described as a "secret police" high council whose authority surpasses the other branches of the Darian government.
While the Szoltag is the topmost authority of the Darian Government, members of the Szoltag, with the exception of the founders, will not identify themselves publicly, but will be identifiable to other members of the Szoltag. However, should a time come where a member fully believes that they need to expose their identity, they can do so, alas they will die in 90 days afterwards. All communication from the Szoltag and the other branches of the Darian Government shall be through a medium.
Chapter 4: Way of Governance and The Szoltag, Article 5The medium, which Article 5 mentions, will be chosen personally through the Szoltag's highest representative of Ilam. The individual is to be cursed by the member who chose them such that should the medium be in a position where they could put the Szoltag's members in jeopardy, or expose their identities, they will immediately die.
Chapter 4: Way of Governance and The Szoltag, Article 6The Szoltag's members will choose successors based on their personal judgement, and merit.
