Gnakkle Knobbwabble

It has been hundreds of years since the death of Gnakkle Knobbwabble but her name still lives on. A simple gnome that lived in the hills just south of Argyle. She was seen from time to time bathing in the waters of Banshee Bay. One day the Chiefdans daughter and heir to the title had wandered off from the care of her mother and gone down to the shoreline to play in the water. It wasn't long before the water weird from the bay jumped up to snatch the small child into the bay and eventually the sea. It was Gnakkle Knobbwabble that saw the child getting dangerously close to the shore and investigated. Gnakkle saw that the child was being spyed on by a lowly water elemental when it summoned a water weird to take the child into the bay. Gnakkle jumped for the child and faught off the water weird with a small reed that she had been playing with. The water weird saw the small gnome and laughed at her. "The child is mine to drown and to kill. There is no way to save her save to give me a skill." the water weird declared. It was at that time that Gnakkle Knobbwabble exchanged her ability to walk with her left leg for the life of the child. The water weird agreed and swam off into the bay. At once Gnakkle Knobbwabble began to wabble from that day forward having given over her ability to walk with her left leg.   The chieftains child lived on and Gnakkle was praised for her bravery and sacrifice. Years later she succumbed to her sacrifice after slipping out of her boat while fishing in Banshee Bay. They say she could swim better than any man. However, legend has it that the water weird took Gnakkle down to the depths out of spite for the good deed of Gnakkle Knobbwabble. The people of Argyle still remember Gnakkle and venerate her by hanging bells off the back of their boat when ever they fish from Banshee Bay.
