Tur'nyso's Bounty

Purpose

This letter is the last message from the infamous pirate Tur'nyso, the Captain of the Painted Lady. It is addressed to his long-term mistress, Ildina, a prostitute who was based somewhere on the Nalysian coastline.

Historical Details

Background

Tur'nyso and his crew infamously disappeared without bringing their final booty ashore. The "gift" he speaks of, the one he intended to give to Ildina, is supposedly a magical artifact that Tur'nyso carried with him his whole career. This artifact, although exactly what it is is unknown, supposedly grants the holder good luck and good wealth. Any pirate with the slightest amount of superstition will be keeping an eye out for Tur'nyso's bounty, either the sunken Painted Lady, or the artifact. No one knows where either could be, but it doesn't stop them from searching.

Dearest Ildina,
I am staring at the sunset now, as we used to do on the hill, and I know it's my last one.
You were right. Galvek took the Painted Lady. But she won't last long without be aboard. Even now, I'm sure she'll be taking him to the bottom of the ocean. Her crew will be loyal to me until the end, of that I have no doubt.
But I wish my final night was on her deck, not here with soil beneath my feet. That's how it was always meant to go.
I know I said I'd be back, but I'll have to go back on my promise.
Your gift is here with me. I'll die with it, and no one else can have it, but know it was always meant to be yours.
