Sagittary

Horrid beasts they are, amalgamations of man and horse. At night they come bearing their touch of flame and spears of lightning. What they cannot take with them, they destroy. Loot anything they can. Leave a couple alive to tell of their conquests to the next town over, to scare them. We tried to deal with them at first, paid tribute to the Horselords, but ever month they come back demanding even more. We reached a point where we had nothing left to give. It mattered to the Sagittaries not at all; they razed our town regardless. I managed to escape with my life, though I fear I was left alive on purpose, to spread the panic. If you hear them coming, that dreadful thunder of hoofbeats, start running.
-An anonymous survivor of a Sagittary attack on Settler's Rest
We are not the true enemy. We are their saviours, yet they lack the eyes to see the obvious. Enlightenment is ours to bring, from the World beyond do we ride, ride ever onwards south for there lies our goal. Another world, and then another beyond that. Nothing will stop our tread for we are righteous in our cause.
-Batukhan the Fierce
We can never catch a break, can we? A tragedy after tragedy, the horrors never stop coming. First the spider-mutants, soul-eaters and orcs. Now some horsemen from the far north invade our lands. Though these ones I have heard to be somewhat different. Things igniting at their touch and spears of lightning I have heard them described. Either these survivors all share the same hallucination or these centaurs have technology, strong magic or both. Either way, it would be best to dispatch a myrmidon phalanx there to investigate.
