Gnome

We are done with the prototypes and mass production may begin in this industrious city of ours. No more flesh-things, rockmen or elemental contracts! From now on we are the Lords of the Earth, not those pesky planar rulers with their lazy subordinates and endless complaints about ethics. We have created the ultimate lifeform, a paragon of elemental power: The Homo Terrestris Minimus. Its resemblance to the pure Human form and its small size makes it easy to mistake for a Halfling, which gives us plausible deniability when sending them as spies across the world. If only they knew of the feats these beings are capable of! Effortless mastery over the Earth itself, an uncanny knack for inventing new technology and near immunity against magical assault! Celotenean supremacy will be complete with our breakthrough, I am sure of it. I have a feeling they need a shorter, more convenient name though. How about giving them the name of the elementals they supplant with their superiority: the Gnomes.   Gnome   ASI: +2 Int +2 Cha +2 Wis -2 Str -2 Con -2 Dex     Age: 350-1000 years   Size: 3-4 ft, 40 lb   Speed: 25   Superior Darkvision: up to 120 ft   Magical Resistance: advantage on Int, Cha, Wis saves vs magic   Languages: Arcane, Terran, Local Common   Artificer's Lore: Whenever you make an Intelligence (History) check related to magical, alchemical, or technological items, you can add twice your proficiency bonus instead of any other proficiency bonus that may apply.     Tinker: You have proficiency with artisan tools (tinker's tools). Using those tools, you can spend 1 hour and 10 gp worth of materials to construct a Tiny clockwork device (AC 5, 1 hp). You can use your action to dismantle it reclaiming the materials used in its creation. You can have up to three such devices active at a time. When you create a device, choose one of the following options:   Clockwork Toy: This toy is a clockwork animal, monster, or person, such as a frog, mouse, bird, dragon, or soldier. When placed on the ground, the toy moves 5 feet across the ground on each of your turns in a random direction. It makes noises as appropriate to the creature it represents.   Fire Starter: The device produces a miniature flame, which you can use to light a candle, torch, or campfire. Using the device requires your action.   Music Box: When opened, this music box plays a single song at a moderate volume. The box stops playing when it reaches the song's end or when it is closed.   At your DM's discretion, you may make other objects with effects similar in power to these. The Prestidigitation cantrip is a good baseline for such effects.   Gnomish Spellcasting: You get access to these spells when you reach the specified level:   lvl 1: Mold Earth, Magic Stone   lvl 3: Earth Tremor   lvl 5: Earthen Grasp   lvl 7: Meld Into Stone   lvl 9: Stone Shape   lvl 11: Transmute Rock   You can cast each of these spells once per long rest, unless you have a spellcasting ability feature in which case they use spell slots as normal and they don't count towards spells prepared or known.
