Government

Skopaville, as a small village comprising approximately five hundred permanent citizens at its height, approximately one hundred after discovery of gold and uranium at Fersanville, and only approximately fifty by its destruction, was governed by a Sheriff. The Sheriffs of all the settlements in Kamos north of Fersanville hypothetically answered at first to the Mayor of Rabarak, then the Mayor of Fersanville after the Siege of Novadež.

History

Settlement

Skopaville was the first mining settlement in Tebosian Eroc, and was founded in 1565 by Chivvi Skopason Snr upon his discovery of uranium in the area.

The Desert Stockade

It was the main site of the 1584 Desert Stockade, an unsuccessful rebellion against the Tebosian Government led by founder Chivvi Skopason Snr. The Tebosian Army destroyed their stockades and crops, and killed Chivvi Skopason Snr, among others.

The Rebellion Tax

After the Stockade, the Tebosian Government enforced a Rebellion Tax on the cities and towns of the Kamos region. Kivvi Skopason Snr, Skopaville's second Sherriff, decided to increase mining and begin growing native blackwood to replace their wheat crops, something he had learned from the native Mullaree people.

Millet Export

In 1585, 18 year old Stoff Skopason, son of Chivvi Skopason Snr, became Sheriff, as he was now old enough to inherit the title from his father. He began the growing of millet for puffing and brewing into boza.

Mullaree Attacks on the Dariliv

This allowed Skopaville to pay their taxes without trouble until the Mullaree attacks along the Dariliv River increased dramatically in 1594, and they had to trade with Rurusville through Fersanville, which costed time and resources. They also lost access to valuable trading opportunities, as they were no longer Rurusville's main access point to the Dariliv River.

The Mines Run Dry

In 1606, Nelleni Skopason, Stoff Skopason's wife, left for Fasma Town to find work so that she could send the now struggling village money for the taxes. In 1907, just one year later, the mines ran dry, and the village was forced to survive purely on its millet export, as only one payment was ever received from Nelleni.

Destruction by The Wooden Mage

1613 was the Fifth Year in a row Skopaville was unable to pay its taxes after a significant portion of the village's boza was drunk by Marcus Karterson before it could be sold. The Wooden Mage visited to collect the taxes, and when Sheriff Stoff was unable to pay, he destroyed the village by collapsing the mines with magic so that they flooded with water from the Dariliv River. All citizens of Skopaville were killed, except for Chivvi Skopason, Amora Karterson, Marcus Karterson, and Cecil the Pig, who were not in the village at the time.

Geography

Skopaville was located east of where the Dariliv River breaks off into a large tributary that was used to travel to Rurusville before the attacks of the Mullaree became too dangerous. Across the river to the west is the Mage's Forest, where its citizens got most of their meat and fruit from, particularly goats and figs. To its east is the Kamen Desert.   Due to their location on the Dariliv River, the citizens of Skopaville used dugout canoes as their primary mode of transportation. This allowed them easy access to Karterville, Fersanville, Rurusville, and the Desert Badlands.
