Hylas

(a.k.a. the Watcher, the Gluttonous, the Debased)

Named for the constellation of the Watcher, Hylas represents madness, debauchery and greed. His current Ensouled is Arter Abramik, a young Appish man who is the Shield-Twin of an Appish Prince.

Identifying Characteristics

Hylas' Ensouled is born with white eyes, effectively appearing as if they have no iris.

Physical quirks

Hylas is weak to diamond, which can also block or dull the enhanced senses that he provides. This has led to many in the Appish nobility (of which his Ensouled is a part of) having diamond-dust encrusted clothing, or at least undergarments, in order to preserve their modesty.

Special abilities

Hylas confers the ability to alter one's own perception to his Ensouled. This allows them to, among other things, enhance their senses in various ways (see things far away, track someone by smell, etc.), see through solid objects (though some materials are harder to see through than others), see heat, see sound and to generally see/hear/taste/smell with any part of their body at a whim.

Motivation

Hylas has always pushed his Ensouled to indulge themselves in whatever sensations he can convince them. Food, drink and drugs if he can, as well as pleasures of the flesh, but even just seeing, smelling or experiencing something new, uncommon or just a bit different to the Ensouled's day-to-day experiences will often suffice for him as he shares the senses of his Ensouled.
