Liu Xaio (Lee eww She oww)

1 Once upon a time [Beginning] There was a 49-year-old blind man in China who worked in an outdoor massage parlor alongside many other blind people. The massage parlor was in downtown Beijing, China, located in the tourist parts of the city.
2 And every day...[Beginning] After his massaging service closed for the day, he would wait outside in front of the parlor for his son, Lee, to pick up Liu in his car and drive his father back to their small, shoddy apartment in Pinggu District.
3 But one day...[The Event] One night, Lee did not show up when he was supposed to. It began to rain, and Liu grew agitated that his son, Lee, was making him wait in the pouring rain. Because he was upset and impatient, Liu eventually decided to try to walk home in the rain by himself, despite being legally blind. He knew the area around his work well enough, but his apartment in Pinggu District was far away, and he didn’t know all the roads to get there. But Liu prided himself on being a self-sufficient man, and he thought that if he was cautious, he could get home by himself. He listened to the city around him and was actually able to make it to within a few blocks of his apartment. When he was close to his apartment building, he heard some shouting coming from up ahead of him. From the sound, he could tell that there were several people involved in some kind of altercation across the street up ahead. He thought about turning around when he heard someone yell his name.
4 Because of that...[Middle] Liu did not turn around, and instead started to feel like his lungs were being crushed under a huge weight. He felt like he was being stretched and squeezed in all directions, and the pressure and sensations were almost unbearable. Then, Liu fell unconscious.

When he regained consciousness, Liu opened his eyes and saw his apartment complex towering above him. He realized that he was no longer blind, and that whatever had happened to him while he was unconscious, had given him the ability to see for the first time in his life. Liu felt a surge of joy flood through him as he lay on the concrete and looked up at the sun, and he was so elated that he began to laugh. He began to hear murmurs as a crowd began to gather around him. At first, Liu thought that it was because he was laying on the ground and laughing, but then he turned his head to the side and saw the five metal spheres that floated all around him. The spheres were the size of basketballs and hovered around him like they were waiting for his command. These spheres were called Muo spheres. Liu felt that they had been psionically bonded to him and would do what he told them to. Many people in the crowd were taking pictures and videos of him. One person in the crowd asked if he needed help, and Liu said yes.

5 And because of that...[Middle] He didn’t understand what had happened to him, but he had been abducted by interdimensional aliens who had psionically bonded him to the Muo spheres. When Liu said yes to the person who asked if he needed help, the Muo spheres picked up on his psionic distress and a tentacle shot out from the Muo spheres towards the person who had asked and another person in the crowd. The tentacles injected itselfs into the back of their necks: After a few seconds of violent convulsions, one gained immense medical knowledge and the ability to fly, and the other got the ability to know the exact compositions of things, down to the atom, just by touching them. The Muo spheres gave these powers to the people in the crowd because the spheres thought those powers would help Liu understand what had happened to him. The person with immense medical knowledge went and examined Liu while the other person touched Liu and the Muo spheres. The person with medical knowledge said that Liu had an implant in his cerebral cortex that allowed him to communicate with the Muo spheres. The other one said that the Muo spheres were a combination of technology and living tissue. As they said this, the crowd began to press in. Then, the one with medical knowledge and the ability to fly picked Liu up and flew away with him to get away from the crowd. But people in the apartment building saw them fly away and called the police on them.

6 And because of that...[Middle] The flying man dropped Liu off at his apartment after the crowd dissipated, but the police were already there. When the Muo sphere’s tentacle detached from the flying man, he lost all of his superpowers, and the authorities let him go. The policemen were all in shock when they saw Liu come out of the stairwell with all the Muo spheres behind him like puppies playfully following their master. The police then told Liu they needed to take him in for questioning. Liu said that he hasn’t done anything wrong, and that he loves China and would be happy to go in for questioning. The police then take him to the station, where he is questioned. The police file a report that gets the federal authorities involved, since they don’t know what had happened to Liu or what the Muo spheres are.
7 Until finally...[The Climax] The federal authorities take Liu and the Muo spheres into custody. Chinese scientists study him until they understand how the Muo Sphere functions and how they 'feed'. The scientists discover that the Muo spheres are alien life forms that are psionically bonded with Liu Xaio, and they follow Liu's will. He can call them forth without speaking or raising an arm. Muo spheres use their tentacles to attach or detach them to/from other people and to pick up things and touch people. They have not learned to speak. They make light humming sounds when they float in the air. When they attach to other people, they provide that person with a temporary random superpower. When they disconnect from the person, that temporary power is removed and its effects turned off. He can also see in the dark and has a heightened sense of hearing.
The government of China realizes the incredible power of the Muo spheres, and the President of China invites Liu to dinner. The President offers Liu the official office of Protector of China, and Liu accepts.
8 So now..[End] Liu works for the Chinese Communist Party as the Protector of China. He and the Muo spheres defend China from other superpowered threats, and Liu becomes very famous and a celebrity in China. Secretly, the President wonders if Liu poses a threat to China as well as an asset.
