Hundreds of years have passed since the nuclear winter that covered the world for decades finally faded. Since those times life on Earth has recovered, and in fact, flourished.   Human settlements are few and far between, many of the larger cities are still dangerous to enter due to the radioactive pollution; and many others are entirely submerged by the sea that had engulfed almost 30% of land area. Some groups have become nomadic, some stay put in   The world has been through many trials in the last few centuries: from the initial onslaught of a nuclear war; to the mini ice age caused by a nuclear winter; to the rapid increase in temperature and subsequent thawing of the ice-caps due to global warming. With global temperatures now 10C higher than before, much of fauna populations moving North, leaving immense deserts in their wake.   Despite this life has come out on top. Much of the land previously inhabited by humans has now reverted back to its more natural state. With human populations now sparse, and the unused materials and food left from a population 1000x the size, life on Earth has come to a most unusual peace.
