"Do you know what death feels like?" Remi stepped closer to the man bound in a length of rope. His voice had long since gone hoarse. "Well I don't either, but I feel it is important to learn these type of things." Confusion played upon his face. It twisted to fear as Remi's hand began to glow purple, as if it were covered in a small amount of strange flame. "So I'm going to ask you to take notes. Barring that, at least try to tell me through the pain." She moved the small notepad to his bound hands and grabbed his exposed shoulder. Immediately his flesh began to wither, then rot. Tears rolled down his face as his raspy voice tried to beg.

The notebook was still empty in front of the pile of ash. Nothing helpful gained in her search or her research. Remi stood and walked out of the shack, squinting into the sunlight. "Well you got me. I give up. My last lead on you, silent to the end." Hanging her head, she rubbed her neck, still not used to not having hair. With that, she turned down the path to Wietten and continued her march to enlightenment.

Growing up as the middle child, Remi knew what she had to do to avoid her fathers gaze. Stay out of sight. Don't cause trouble. Stay silent. Remain plain. Because of this she heard her siblings cries of pain rather than making them herself. Eventually her father left the rest of them in crippling debt with several interested parties breathing down their necks. Remi did the logical thing. She buried her past, left her family and sought out someone to teach her more of what she studied alone in her room.

When she was but 8 she found Mikael, a wizard willing to take her on. After 12 years of study, he kicked her out, telling her she must learn more about the world outside the library before he would teach her any more of the arcane.

She Spent a decent amount of time looking for her father to exact revenge, but for some strange reason, no one knows where he is. Or they wont tell. For now she has given up on that dream.
