Exoculom Vanshus (Vanshell's Blinding Flower)

Exoculom Vanshus (Vanshell's Blinding Flower) is a phototropic flowering plant that can be found on mountainsides in the northern hemisphere. The foliage of the plant is toxic when ingested, with the toxin causing the optical sensors of the creature that ingested it becoming intensely sensitive to light, which in the plant's native habitat causes near or permanent blindness.     Uses in Stienneran society:   Exoculom Vanshus is often used as a poison that inhabits but doesn't kill the target in the northern hemisphere of Stiennera. Often those who are effected by the plant's toxin are shunned due to the reliance on sight to spot landmarks and creatures in the deserts, rocky plains, and mountains, of the north.   In the southern hemisphere the plant is used to aid in astronomy and hunting due to the increased light sensitivity the toxin grants greatly helping in the sunless region of the planet. In the last century the leaves and petals of Exocculom Vanshus are brewed into a herbal tea as it allows for concentrated amounts of the toxin to be quickly consumed to grant a greater light sensitivity.   The plant doesn't see much use in the equatorial region of Stiennera and is mainly seen in the cargo of trade caravans or ships to the southern hemisphere.
