Necrotica

Necrotica is a tomb world. Archaeological surveys suggest that it was once the site of an advanced civilization, masters of blending magic and technology. Unfortunately, at some point before Systems Alliance colonists arrived, it destroyed itself. The prevailing theory is that the invention of a magical superweapon employing negative energy lead to a devastating global war which eradicated the population, leaving only their empty cities behind, inhabited now only by undead legions. Negative energy still lingers on the planet, forcing any visitors to wear heavy protective gear if they want to survive at all and making travel in some places entirely impossible. While most of the population of the planet are mindless zombies or skeletons, pockets of more advanced and some intelligent undead inhabit the planet. The small port of Nox Libram has become a point of contact for new colonizers, where a highly intelligent undead going by “Senator Delirious” reigns. He gladly trades with outsiders, sharing stories and offering shelter for the few living who visits him.
Recently, a few colonies have been set up on the planet with the help of Senator Delirious, the stations being protected by magical perimeters keeping the negative energy at bay. It is intensely difficult living, but the wealth within the ancient cities are of such staggering value that many are tempted never the less.
