Meryck (Meh-Riq)
Meryck knew exactly what he wanted to be since he was seven cycles old. After the third harvest was completed, the Perrinet's acting company came to town and stayed for four moons. While the other children were delighted with the beautiful costumes, the young Balado Parrot and the colorful decors, Meryck studied Perrinet's every gesture. He knew how hard his father, and the other men in the village worked, this gave them a hunched demeanor. Perrinet on the other hand, seemed to be the tallest man he had ever seen. He understood instantly how the small changes in posture drastically changed the appearance.
That evening, when Perrinet took the stage in an adaptation of Fury of the Gods, he played three characters making the audience laugh and cry. What Meryck noticed were that most of the women and some of the men swooned and audibly gasped. Then and there he knew he wanted to have that effect on people. For cycles afterwards, Meryck could be seen strutting all over the village, chest high, reciting all the lines of every play the Perrinet's acting company. Off key, with terrible pitch, but he knew every word.
At his sixteenth cycle, he left home and made his way to Shemuford to take the world by storm. Once there he applied to the big five, and was rejected by each one with the same advice: Once your resume is more substantial, then we might consider your application. As long as they are the proper credits.
Not one to be deterred from his ambitions, Meryck found some apprenticeships in the smallest theater houses in every department possible like costuming, backgrounds, ticketing. Really any aspect of the theater life that will bolster his resume. For some reason the only difficulties he encounters comes to speaking roles on the planks. Even as an understudy he cannot find suitable experience. The cynical side of him thought it had to be the male casting directors.
When he is not slaving at different theaters, refining his craft, Meryck is still walking with the same strut he acquired as a youth, and can be found at the Amusing Antelope, his favorite tavern. His table is easily identifiable, it is the one filled with women swooning over his every word.
