Count of Atropine, Viscount of Solanaceae

Qualifications

Must be a member of the Desmonda Family, either by birth or adoption.

Requirements

The title of Viscount of Solanaceae is awarded to the eldest child at the age of 16 or adequate sword training, and the title of Count of Atropine is awarded upon the death of the previous bearer.

Appointment

At the age of 16 or adequate sword training, a Desmonda child receives a weapon with the Desmonda crest carved into the handle. Traditionally it has been a sword, more modernly a sword-cane, and with the most recent appointment of Patience, a parasol-cane.

Duties

Desmondas defend others before themselves, protect women, care for children, and maintain the honour upheld by their ancestors.

Responsibilities

Desmondas are required to gain proficiency with one type of sword, and traditionally gain skill in a secondary weapon.

Benefits

Noble birth, access to the family fortune, and the terrifying loyalty of the rest of the family. The County of Atropine is strewn with bone.
