Grand Duchy of Saburra

Generally referred to as "the Wild South", the "Frontier", or simply "the South", the dusty rocky badlands and savanna plains of Saburra were the second colonial venture of the Empire, spearheaded by the Shardlands and the Reach, in an attempt to catch up with the Northern and Heartlander colonies in the Gilded Isles. Finding fierce resistance from Orks, Dragons, and the land itself, the hard-fought Grand Duchy has gained a reputation for harboring the unwanted, with a wild landscape and people alike. Known for its plethora of strange natural resources, chief among them the Adamantium Mines, and many ancient ruins of strange and unknown design, which have only recently begun to be studied.

Structure

With only a small amount of Noble Houses, the South's organizational structure is relatively simple. it is ruled by the Grand Duchess of the City of Saburra, the seat currently belonging to House Draconis In Dragon's Maw. The Duchy of Saburra encompasses everything east of the Bloodpeaks that divide the territory, most of it being the red badlands and fertile river valleys that it is so known for - The Duchy of Light's Hope being the Savannah to the west of the peaks . Beneath them are several Barons and Baronesses, castellans, mayors, and other smaller landholders.

Public Agenda

The frontier is mostly concerned with its survival, and always in need of more trade agreements to trade for military pacts, as they fear another Ork War at any given moment. There is also always room for more, and incentivizing others to keep settling here is still important.

Assets

Compared to other Imperial Principalities, the South does not have much power and capital, and essentially functions as the bargaining chip of greater powers most of the time. Since its economy brings in valuable materials, but is near-completely dependent on food imports from the Empire at large, the South is beholden to its masters.   As far as magic goes, the South outsources it. There are no colleges or schools of magic in the Frontier, and anyone with the talent is promptly shipped off to cushier regions to learn.
