Session 3: Fight! Fight!

General Summary

Aggie did her per-session role to examine Meeko's Pendant. She got 1 success, up to 4 total. 6 = information gained.   The group debated which lead to follow up:   1)Investigate Feedlebum Salvaging to discover anything about the whereabouts of the Dicker Max, either through investigation of the FS sales office on STIX or just flying the Andromeda out to Blackbird, where FS has their main base (24 hour flight in Andromeda, far outside the "safe" zone maintained by STIX security.   2) Investigate the warehouse/office space on STIX which is owned by Iratus Securities.   Aggie sent her nano-spy-drone to investigate the IS office. She was able to sneak it in and observe the following:
  • The warehouse was mostly (and recently) emptied out.
  • There were a few shady looking guys working in the warehouse.
  • The warehouse had a door that was labeled "morgue", an unmarked double door, and a door that was labeled "docking bay".
  • Sending the drone through the docking bay she observed that they were loading a shuttle with 4 crated marked "refrigeration units"
  • Paying off a contact in STIX Flight Operations Control to track the shuttle later it deviated from its filed flight plan and headed off toward Blackbird.
Aggie sent the drone through a ventilation duct leading to the "morgue" but the drone got zapped by some kind of security system.   The party decided to investigate the activity at the IS offices before looking into Fiedelbum. Aggie elected to stay behind, everyone else went.   Once they got close, Meeko noticed that the local security stations were deactivated, indicating that security systems like alarms and weapon tracking sensors were deactivated in the area. The party also noticed that all of the offices near the IS office seemed to be vacant.   They decided the best bet was to break into one of the vacant offices next door and try to use the ventilation system to sneak into the IS office.   Meeko successfully used her security skills to break into the next door office, and then went through the duct in the vacant office's reception area leading to the reception area in the IS office. She botched her stealth roll and the section of ventilation duct she was in fell though the roof and dumped her next to an IS thug. She successfully rendered him unconscious as Drakenstrike came through the vent, which further collapsed, dropping him directly into the line of fire of two other thugs who could see him through the doorway to the warehouse section. A Firefight ensued. Killian had a breakthrough with his void sense (read: spent 2 XP to give himself the cliche "Amateur Void Psyker" at level 1, and tried to use his power to attack the thugs, instead accidentially summoning two void critters who attacked randomly. During the firefight he was able to banish them back to the void. Drakenstrike used his microdrones as little battering rams, destroying one of them and knocking out one of the thugs.   Eventually both thugs were taken down, although Drakenstrike took some damage in the process. At that moment, Killian felt a surge of Void energy, and a Force Psyker wearing an outfit made mostly out of leather straps and sporting purple tattoos glowing with void energy and a pair of Void Steel knives came charging across the warehouse through the double doors, straight at the party. The party managed to get a couple of hits on him, depleting some of his Void shield, but he got close enough to engage. Killian managed to trip the Force Psyker up a bit while Meeko used her brawler skill to get into melee combat with him. Eventually he was brought down, unconscious.   The party felt it was safer to kill him and the unconscious thug, so that's what they did.   Drakenstrike attempted to hack into the IS computer system through the terminal in the reception area, but did not have enough time to make much progress. He will be able to re-attempt remote hacking on the system with a bonus (first roll at major advantage, second roll at minor advantage).   Meeko used her security skills again to break into the "Morgue", where the party found a suit of surplus powered armor, as well as 2 partial suits which were obviously being used as part. There was also a crate marked "refrigeration unit" just big enough to hold the armor. Apparently IS were smuggling suits out of the station in the crates. The party stole both the good suit, and the spares, Drakenstrike (who can operate the suit due to his VR infantry gamer training) taking it outside the station and EVA-ing back to the Andromeda's docking slip.   Lastly, Aggie used the second of her three nano-charges to make a nano-drone that appears in looks like a small pool of mercury designed to go out and scavenge resources to make more nano-charges from the station. The drone is autonomous (skill 4), and will take 24 hours divided by the number of successes rolled to collect enough material to provide Aggie with one additional nano-charge.
