Session Summary: Escape from Nar Shaddaa and Kuat Diplomacy
General Summary
The session began with Aidan and Tychus seeking refuge in Odis Krilling’s apartment to devise a plan to rescue Kael, Angela Krin, and Mika the Hutt from Zonnos. A broadcast revealed Zonnos’s intent to execute the captives within the hour, forcing the heroes to act quickly. Choosing a stealthy approach through the air ducts, they infiltrated Zonnos’s throne room just as the trial began. Kael, empowered by the surprise entry of his comrades, broke free, rescued Angela, and sought cover as a chaotic battle unfolded. The fight culminated in Zonnos’s death, with Mika arriving with loyal Nikto guards to restore order. Zonnos’s remaining forces surrendered upon seeing Mika’s arrival.
Mika rewarded the heroes with credits, personal favors, and the fulfillment of all obligations owed by his late parent, Popara. He also offered them a job cleaning up Zonnos's Tempest-induced chaos, but the heroes declined. Before departing Nar Shaddaa:
- Kael used his favor to negotiate transport for the Evocii tribe to Kuat. Mika reluctantly provided a cargo container for the journey.
- Aidan used his favor to ensure Mika supplied the Evocii with basic necessities for the trip, such as food, water, and large buckets for lavatory purposes. Mika refused to offer anything more, fearing it would damage his reputation if other Hutts discovered his involvement.
- Tychus spoke with Odis Krilling, who offered to teach him the Mandalorian "old ways" and welcomed him back anytime for lessons.
The group returned to Kuat, where they learned their ship repairs were delayed due to backordered parts. At their hotel, they overheard Trondor Pyn, a distressed engineer, muttering about plotting to bomb ship hangars. Calming him, the heroes discovered his plight: a former engineer for House Andrim, Trondor had been coerced into spying for both Andrim and their rival, House Purkis. His failures left him desperate to escape, and he planned the bombing as a distraction to flee Kuat.
Determined to prevent further chaos, the heroes sought an audience with Malfred Purkis III, the head of House Purkis. Initially reluctant, Malfred agreed to meet after the heroes offered him a blueprint from House Andrim’s drydock. In the meeting, Malfred demanded 15 million credits in compensation for damage to his reputation and house, stating this was the only way he would consider ending the feud.
Hoping the Jedi Council might provide the funds to facilitate the peace talks, Aidan contacted his master, Mace Windu. However, Windu challenged Aidan to find a diplomatic resolution independently, emphasizing the importance of resolving the situation without outside financial support.
The session ended with the heroes facing the daunting task of negotiating peace between the rival houses of Purkis and Andrim on Kuat.
