The Fey
The Fey are not one race but many. Immigrants from a dying universe rich with magic, they travelled to Yggdrasil to escape extinction. Their forms are varied, but they all share common traits, such as an inability to lie and a severe allergic reaction to iron. They have a natural proficiency with magic and are effectively immortal. Their people are almost to vaired to catalogue but they include pixies, fawns, centuars, trolls, ogres, hags, dwarves, banshees, goblins and more. Above all are the Lords and Ladies of the Fey, the Tuath Dé. These humanoids possess an alien beauty and practice magic as easily as other lifeforms breath.
Most Fey claim alligiance to one of the two Tuath Dé courts, Summer or Winter. These courts are equal and opposite each other and claim to have existed for millions of years before they even came to Yggdrasil. Unaffiliated Fey are called Wyldlings.
The Fey Courts are ruled by a Summer King and a Winter Queen, Oberon and Mab. These two monarchs are fiercely ancient and powerful individuals. Fortunately for the rest of Yggdrasil they are forbidden by their own laws from interfering with the affairs of non-Fey without being asked to first. They do however each have two agents loosed of these rules known as Knights. Any lifeform can become a Knight and receive immense power in return for being beholden to the ruler of their respective Court.
