Fairy

Only a few beings in this world are truly immortal. A few special fairies are immortal, with a purpose given by the Creator himself: to help all other beings on that world. They were supposed to support a positive and tight relationship to the Creator. Only a few of the immortal ones actually still stick to that calling, most have more or less ignored their calling. These immortal fairies have numerous mortal and smaller fairies under their command and have devoted themselves to a certain characteristic. For example the one devoted to the pure compassionate love is still helping other species in their relationship to the Creator, while there is also one devoted to deceit, which is against the character of the Creator, so this immortal will pull others away from Him. Generally all fairies are very magically affine, strong in light and portal magic; even more so the immortal ones, they are very powerful in that regard, which makes them practically invulnerable.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Overall fairies are physically very frail, while the immortals are quite big, about as big as a human, the average fairy can range from human thumb sized up to a third of a human, growing with age. The physical form of the immortals can differ strongly from the usual form of a normal fairy: humanoid asexual body with insectoid wings, glowing so bright that one can't see any features except their silhouette.

Biological Cycle

The average life expectancy of a non-immortal fairy is about half as old as a human, while they are theoretically all immortal, but the non-immortal ones just can't sustain their energy-consumption at some point. They spend most of their life in a partly-physical plane, where they can exist as physical beings or just as their consciousness traveling this plane without their physical body. If the body dies in this state they will stay as non-physical consciousness in their partly-physical plane forever. Fairies try to avoid it, as they see immortality as a consciousness as a curse and not a life worth living. The immortal fairies keep track of their subordinates and their number and in their special plane of existance take a part of their body and form a new fairy if needed.

Behaviour

Every immortal fairy has their own partly-physical plane with their own population of fairies beneath them. These fairies work with all their heart for their leading, immortal fairy and they share their leader's ideals.
