Speculum

A divergent world line where the creation of the planet wasn't an all powerful being or a cosmic anomoly but rather the decent of celestial beings. Times since past and those beings are long since forgotten - new gods walk the earth weilding powers that harness the escence of the space around them.   Humans are governed by monarcies and shadow governments whos desires shape society around them. Within this world the ever present powerstruggle to hold the seat of divine power inherited through worship or combat.   The times of great wars have passed and now a over confident god has shaped a panteon aligned with their desires and opposing gods sit docile choosing their domains peace over their need for gobal recognition of their ideals.   Adventures that step into this world will be faced with mysteries around the origin of the gods and divinity, civilisations long since passed and can help cities form and grow or seek to claim the seat of power for themselves or their gods.
