Ares Valley (Air-ez Valley)

The Ares Valley is a region of the continent that includes the Wyverest mountains and the land around them. It is an area known for production of metals and things made of metals though this is mostly due to the city of Ares that has in recent decades has become a powerhouse of not only industry but trade.

Geography

The region is bordering with mountains in the west and south, ocean to the north and east. The Wyverest Mountains are dense and feature a singular mountain that stands more alone father into the valley. The valley dips after the mountains into a deep valley with a forest and low lying grassland. Towards the ocean the land rises to only a little above sea level leaving beaches rather than cliffs.

Ecosystem

The area between the mountains and the city of Ares is mostly overtaken from the natural ecosystem with farming and this is the same with the areas around most other settlements in the region. The main area for ecosystem continuing naturally is in the Ares Forest due to the Forest's density and difficulty of navigating.

Natural Resources

The mountains are well populated with metals and coal to be mined and as a result of growing industry it has only become more important. There are large numbers of farms to feed the cities and grow forest of wood to harvest aside from the natural forest that remains mostly due to the dangers and difficulty of cutting trees deeper in the woods.

History

The region due to mining has been known for industry for a long time but was difficult for trade by being reliant on shipping. Now it is a trade hub with the invention of the airship, however the older dock cities have lost their source of income significantly.
