Kansas
In a bizarre coincidence, the planet Lady was transported to shares a name with an old territory of Earth. Similar to Earth’s midwest (Kansas was located there), much of the land is flat, covered by grasses, and roamed by herds of whatever. Farmers control their livestock using domesticated local predators. It’s like Tatooine but grassier.
Kansas is known for its agriculture industry, especially livestock. All the land that isn’t used for grazing tangbeasts or too rocky to plant is covered with corn. Thanks to the robust irrigation systems covering the planet, food can be grown even in dry seasons. Kansas as a whole sells their products to big hub planets such as Concordia IX and New Earth, though independent farmers can sell their crop to whomever they please.
Another planet in danger of biological collapse thanks to the intervention of humans. Kansas never had as much water as earth, and every export of meat or corn takes some water with it. The ecosystem has begun to show signs of the planet-wide drought. Importing water from ocean worlds has been considered as a possible fix. For now, farmers are growing competitive over the remaining rivers and streams. Full-scale wars will probably break out within the next five years or so, but for now the situation simply remains heated.
