Isolde-La

The planet of two names: ‘Isolde’, after Commander Isolde Laurens- the human woman who made first contact with the species living there, and ‘La’ after the indigenous species name for the air, which the ship came from. After a half century of talks with the dominant species (the Oyl), humanity was finally allowed to colonize. Unfortunately, humanity needed to terraform in order to optimize production and living. Without asking permission (this was back during the first Great Expansion), humans altered the air soil to suit their own needs, destroying the biomes that were required for the indigenous species to survive. This dark past while known, has been hidden and excused for a long time. Ironically enough, the Senate and Seat of the Emperor base their influence there now, it is where the major government buildings have been built. If the galaxy was America, Isolde-La would be Washington DC.
