Exo-Terra

One of the first planets that Humanity colonized as a part of their exploration period, it is the icy land that the Ecksosherani come from. It has no large oceans and life existed in a delicate balance with harsh freezing winds top-world and the small grottos of plants and life hidden beneath the roots of great trees that once thrived. This happened due to warm geysers that spike into the lower levels of the planet near the mantle. Trees would grow huge roots to capitalize on the water there, which form shields from the ice above. When the heat melted the ice above, the roots would maintain the structure until the next big snowstorm (which were highly common anyways). Because of this unique and isolated ecosystem, most species on the planet evolved similar but separate from each other. Exo-Terra was unfortunately overworked by the Ecksosherani, and was abandoned until Humanity’s arrival. Humans attempted to terraform, but the punishing winds and ice destroyed most of their equipment and they were forced to abandon the planet.
