Watchblades

The followers of Erundal, the guardians of Nalar, and the protectors of the Midnight Elves, Watchblades stand against the creature of the dark and all that might destroy the rebuilding race.

Structure

The Watchblades number around two thousand, and are divided into five divisions: the sentinels, the wardens, the cavers, the shadows, and the moons. each division has around four hundred members.   The leader of each division is called the Watcher of the (insert division name). the Watchers report directly to the Moonsworn, who leads the Watchblades.   Divisions are grouped into five companies of eighty, and from there into ten squads of eight. each squad is responsible for a specific area of the Midnight Kingdom. The sentinels protect important officials and positions of power, such as government buildings. The wardens guard major cities, and other settlements. The cavers regularly patrol travel routes between settlements, exterminating darklings and rebuffing prospecting dwarves. The shadows escort travelers of high importance, and guard the entrances to the midnight kingdom. The moons guard sites of religious or historical significance, such as Nalar.

Public Agenda

The Watchblades serve to protect the midnight kingdom from those that would destroy it. focused on defense and rebuilding, the Watchblades are not overly aggressive, but fight fiercely if defending.

Assets

While the Watchblades have enough steel and leather for every watchblade to be adequately equipped, squad leaders and other high-ranking officials are granted Mithril weapons and enchanted armor. The Moonsworn is granted access to the rapier of the original moonblade, Urpathal.

History

THe Watchblades were formed by the survivors of Erandul the Moonsworn's assault on the Temple of Lolth in Nalar, when the survivors promised to protect the newly christened Midnight Elves and uphold Erandul's ideals.

Demography and Population

The only land that the Watchblades inhabit in forces stronger than half a company is the ruins of Nalar, where two and a half companies of the moon division are stationed. one squad of wardens can be found in most settlements, and divisions of sentinels are stationed in the major cities of the midnight kingdom. the other divisions do not have permanent headquarters.
