Trenfold Caverns
A series of massive caverns and interconnected caves under and within the continent of Nimestra.
Geography
With entrances located all around Nimestra, the Trenfold Caverns are home to their own ecosystem underneath the Sidhal Forest, with Midnight elves, darklings, and dwarves all calling the Trenfold Caverns their ancestral lands. deep inside the depths, caverns lined with precious metals glitter, gold being the most common among them. even in the surface caves, veins of ore are abundant, especially in the southern reaches of the caves, giving the nickname of the Trenfold Caverns: "the sparkling underworld"
Fauna & Flora
while the Trenfold Caverns do not have the massive oaks and pines of the forest above, they still contain life. sightless fish swim in underground rivers and lakes, while lichen grows to cover walls. in surface caverns, mushrooms of most every type grow, using the excrement of bats roosting overhead by the millions as fertilizer.
Intelligent life also resides in the Trenfold Caverns. The three dwarf nations maintain constant wariness of the Midnight Elves, who are working tirelessly to vanish the memory of their predecessors, the Drow. Darklings prowl the darker caves, preying on those who stray to far from the light. in the higher caves, Dragons reside, providing protection for any settlements that pay tribute.
Natural Resources
The Trenfold Caverns are famous for their richness in both ores and gems. any type of gem or metal of any price can be found in the caves, though the southern reaches of the caves tend to have the more practical metals such as iron, copper, tin, and titanium, the northern reaches contain rarer metals like Mithril and Adamantine. The eastern caverns usually contain gems and crystals, while the western reaches and the higher peaks contain gold and silver.
