Solys Meta

Motivation

My motivation for creating this world is to simply have an outlet and sandbox to facilitate the ideas that pop in my head. I mostly plan on having this world to serve as a setting for my group of characters to be able to write into a novel and to maybe serve as a Dungeons & Dragons setting.
The world itself is centred around themes of classic heroism with a shounen-like style of adventures where people have crazy cool powers and awesome monsters to battle, while still discussing serious ideas of diversity and growth. I even named it Solys as it serves as a form of solace for me where I can do and create anything I want.

Genre

My primary genre is a mix of science fantasy, with semi-high magic and a sort of manapunk vibe where technology is powered by magic and magical crystals and has reached a sort of steampunk and energy age fusion of technology. The world is motivated to training young adventurers in various adventurer schools around the world.
The story genre has a sort of action/adventure vibe to it with some romantic subplots.

Scale

Solys is a diverse planet which is slightly smaller than Earth but has similar radial axis and tilt.
It is comprised of around 4 to 5 continents, though the primary narrartive focuses on just one, which is Aurellia, the largest continent of Solys which is culturally split into two nations/sub continents, which are the Peritian Empire and Rasgonce, focusing on the former nation mostly during the stories specifically in its capital city, Crystalgride City.
Crystalgride City is a vibrant place which exists as a cultural nexus for the entire Peritian Empire with thousands of people living in the impregnable walls of the city.
The various species found on Solys include classic fantasy races such as humans, dwarves and elves but it also includes a unique race called Draconids, humanoids with draconic features which have the ability to change how they look and Shift into dragons.

Mood

Solys is a very Neutral Bright world where people are born with wonderful and supernatural abilities where magic can do wondrous things and gods have left an impact on the world where teams of adventurers can explore the world with all its splendour and battle mighty foes. Overall it is a very idealistic and bright world. Despite this, there is a certain seriousness, as when monsters ravage villages, sometimes not everybody can be saved and how evil beings are not always so clear cut as they seem to be.

Conflict

An ancient and powerful lich is trying to dominate the Peritian Empire after he was disgraced from his family's rule of the Empire ages ago. After learning of his birthright he worked for years to regain his power to be able to take what he believes is his. He tries to do so by sending hordes of monsters and beasts to attack the Empire.
