The Train Grave

Down in the southern most tip of Patriam, past Mossdrift Point, lie the ancient grounds where the trains once were. The traveler who ventures into the wild grasslands past Mossdrift and down the peninsula, will eventually come upon lands marked off with tall rusted and overgrown fences. The fences surround a plot of land so dense with vines and other foliage that it's very difficult to make out what's inside. For the traveler who dares to venture in, they will find among the reaching thorns and brush, trains which sit at odd angles, set into the ground. The trains are not unlike that seen and used widely across the island, except for that in these decrepit trains, they have no sails. Our trains travel with the power of the wind, with great masts and sails atop them. But the trains in this ancient grave, must have been powered by some unknown, yet very powerful force. It is ill advice for the traveler to go to this place. One does not know what secrets may be revealed which ought not to have been.

Purpose / Function

It is speculated that the Train Grave was used by the humans of The Lost Era to try and protect their trains during The Disaster, or possibly that is where the trains went after The Disaster. It is unclear to modern historians whether the humans of that time could even operate trains, though it is seen as unlikely, as there have been no sign of railroads anywhere near that era.

Alterations

It has likely been close to 1800 years since the Train Grave was built, during that time, things have decayed. The incomplete archaeological picture of the grave is full of rusted metals, so far gone that they've become delicate and fragile. The whole area is dense with vegetation and has become extremely overgrown over time. Any clue as to what kind of energy propelled these trains has long been destroyed by time.
