Isle of Mist

The Legend behind the Isle of Mists reaches back 1000+ yrs to a man who believed the wilds of the Isle could be tamed and that the Isle could make a great home. All tellings of this tale always seem to give the man a different name. No matter the telling, one thing remains constant and that is that the few that believed in him truly believed. They risked their lives and homes to follow his dream. The Man took a small boat of just a measly 175 people to the Isle and upon arrival were attacked by monsters. The Man and his followers stood strong and only lost three faithful while standing against a horde of the Unclean. Throughout the years, these people built their new home. They found out one major thing about the Isle and its dangers; there were 5 Legendary class Monsters that seemed to rule separate parts of the island and their forces were constantly clashing with one another and if one of these Legendaries died, they were replaced within days by a new Legendary Class Monster. No matter how many fell, the number of Legendary monsters was constant at five. Never more, and never less. The town soon grew into a large city and the Man created a Council to help him keep the law amongst his people. The City prospered for 15 years before the Man's greatest fear came to life; the 5 Legendary Monsters at the time banded together to raze the city to the ground to stop these settlers from getting in the way of their wars. The city was razed in a matter of hours but not without the deaths of 2 of the Legendary beasts. The Man and his court all died in the Razing and those that survived buried the dead in a mass graveyard. The remaining members of the city, for they could no longer be called faithful, chose either death or servitude upon the island. With no means of escape, those were the only two options available to them.
