They were first approached by the school of the manticore as they erected a school near the tribe and since have held a strong relationship ever since. They have many trails within their culture which are held in high regard by the people and is supported by their leaders and religion.   Citizens The citizen of the tribe is mostly human although they do not hold any aversion to other people but accept all people with open arms, they are extremely friendly, and all people are respected within the tribe especially those who walk the path of self-improvement, and they provide their trail to all who want it whether a believer or not.   Culture The culture of the dune tribe is based around renewal which is the act of improvement until reaching a better version. They were first a very traditional culture but with the introduction of the school of the manticore and their sharing of the knowledge about modern culture they possess made the culture be more inclusive and modernized as they see it as an improvement that their previous culture. They have many trails within their culture for many important phases in one’s life.   Political system There are no specific hierarchy within the tribe, but the heads of the tribe are usually those who have gone through the hardest trail and so far, it is the dunewalkers the clerics of ohasis that have each directly gone through the trail of the dune walk, but even then, they do not get the final say as there is a discussion with the respected of the tribe until they reach a solution which is satisfactory for the majority.   Settlements The Grand Oasis: A large oasis that is the main site of the tribe where almost the entirety of the tribe lives 30-minute walking distance from the only temple and a holy site of the tribe. A river bursts from the oasis. The Loin’s Carcass: The keep that the school of the manticore created that acts as the final stopping point before entering the oasis and the tribe. The Buried Temple: A large, glorious temple of intricate carvings half buried into the sand that acts as the main temple of the tribe’s religion and that has a strange small indent that is strangely always filled with clear water from an unknown source. The Sun Temple: An excavation site for the previous temple of the tribe, commissioned and manned by the school of the manticore, that was halted for unknown reasons.   Army The army is called the order of gold after the trail one has to pass to become a member, they are specialized in guerrilla warfare and battle within harsh conditions there are also separated into divisions depending on the conscripts’ favored weapons, they also have no qualms with playing with dirty tactics if their enemies use them, they are also trained in the ways of monster slaying with the help of the school of the manticore.   Religion The tribe follows the god ohasis, the dunebringer, the namesake of their tribe. The tribe’s religion is heavily intertwined with their culture and customs as for each trail the god is always evoked to cement the trail.   Known Trials The trail of the path: the first trail one can do to cement their conviction to the path of self-improvement, usually done when a person reaches adulthood and consists of a vow of devotion to the path and then the tested must walk the path to the desert until they can no longer walk where they would find an oasis and must bathe in it after which all goes black, and they wake up in their quarters. The marking must have a path that leads to usually a rising sun but could be another thing that related to the person’s life goal. The trail of the golden warrior: The trail that any conscript must undergo to become part of the golden order, it entails giving a vow to servitude to the tribe then the conscript is given a small bowl with water from the temple mixed with herbs and after drunk, the coscript will fall into a trance where they would fought warriors made of translucent gold and either the conscript is victorious and wakes up or they are defeated and wake up on the next dawn. The marking is made with gold and must show the conscripts favoured weapons on radiant fire. The trail of renewal: The trail the is given to a person who believes they have reached a better new stage of their life those must provide their magnum opus a proof of their improvement of their choice be it new skill, new level of craft etc. and must get a professional related to their proof to vouch for them. The trail of the other path: Less of a trail but more of a farewell to the participant seen off by the tribe and if the participant desires their markings could be removed. The trail of the sun warrior: Those paladins who which to take an oath in service of ohasis must go through this trail it is not allowed for this trail’s process to be shared with anyone, but it is known to be unique for each participant and includes a test of the resilience of the oath. The marking includes a sword reaching to a golden sun with rays reflecting off its blade. The trail of the ragged rune: This trail are for those who wish to insert the practice of runes into their martial capabilities, one must first be recommended for the trail by the rune carver that is tutoring them after which during the trail they must their knowledge of the runes both in the theoretical and practical ways after which if they succeed, they will gain a marking which includes a rune of their choosing. The trail of the rune carver: Those who wish to mature in the arcane either through study or natural talent must stand in front of a committee of the most respected rune carvers and proof their knowledge and skill of the arcane and must get a majority vote before they succeed the trail. The marking is this beautiful intricate arcane tapestry made to the participants liking. The trail of the ornate glove: For those who wish to explore the spec of divinity within all living beings called the soul and unlock its power through the training of mind, body, and spirit, they must show their proficiency on one of the ways of martial art in front a committee of master and if the are accepted by the master of the way they are using then they succeed. The marking is an ornate glove that reaches to the top of the shoulder modelled after the specific way the participant follows. The dune baptism: The hardest of all trails very few have passed throughout the history of the tribe where first a person is buried in the sand fully and a ritual is done by a dune walker then the baptized is sent to the desert where they are meant to survive seven days that are weirdly supernatural and different for each person, they are returned to the temple after the last day, buried in a special place within the sand where the baptized would go into a trance until the new dawn where they wake and officially become blessed by the god and held in high regard within the children of ohasis. Only a few of people were able to do this throughout history and only those chosen by the god can endure it. Failure usually is accidentally finding your way back to the tribe before the seven days. The marking is that of an angel made from the sun itself and appears on the participant rather than being etched.   Notable events The Finding of the Oasis The day the then nomadic tribe find the oasis which they currently are settled in. The rearing of the manticore: The day the school of the manticore erected the school near the tribe and began diplomatic relationship with them.   Allies & Enemies The Alliance of the rearing chimera: An alliance between the children of ohasis and the school of the manticore which in exchange for help with the modernisation of the culture and teaching of the outside world, the children will share their knowledge of their old magic and help train the slayers of the school.   Notes One must only pass the trail of the path to be seen as a respected member of the tribe. A participant could choose to opt out of getting a marking although this would be a very strange occurrence and almost never happens. While the markings aren’t magical, they can be made with invisible so they can only be uncovered through magical means if the participant so wishes. The last participant who succeeded in the trail of the dune baptism died seven years ago. The school of the manticore trainees are given a trial by the tribe that consist of burial in the sand and some incantations although it is just there to improve the relations and is more ceremonial that an actual trail.
