Faeri (fairy)

Faeri are a soirean race of floating humans. They are analogous of fairies and spirits of earth. Despite what many texts suggest, Faerie is simply an umbrella term for species with fae origins and no classification.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Because 'faerie' is an umbrella term, the faerie races have little in common aside from translucent body parts. Faeries, the race, have rounded paws on their feet and translucent insect wings which appear to be detached from the body, along with long lashes and glittery faerie dust. Jinnis have hair resembling clouds, limbs which turn transparent near to the ends and lack loses and mouths. Yakashas have 4 arms and hooves, with large teeth similar to orcs and translucent floating horns.

Growth Rate & Stages

Note that this is for faeries only jinnis and yakashas do not follow this.
Pixii- 0-4 years old: The first stage of faeries, they are small and have tiny wings, they do not have control of their magic.
Spritte- 4-17 years old: The second stage of faeries, a transitional stage where faeries learn to control their magic and wings, spritte learn the basics of floating.
Faeri- 18+: The last stage, faeries master their magic and floating.

Faeries naturally thrive in areas of high mana concentration.

Behaviour

Faeries inhabit the northern continent of coronae and are often known as the colourful ones. Faeries within Coronae are often artists and musicians with excellent vocals. Before the establishment of Scintillante, faeries were incredibly rare and reclusive, being the source of many legends within the continent.
Jinnis inhabit the northern desert of Khamaseen, far from the Kemet river. Jinnis originally lived in secluded nomadic tribes before building city states, and often become merchants and craftsmen.
Yakashas inhabit the jungle on the Akasha-Laut border. Yakashas are gifted with amazing voices and have a long history of being employed as court musicians and dancers within Akasha.

Found across Coronae, deep within the northern Khamasht desert and along the Akasha- Laut border.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Like all fae species, faeries all have night vision. Faeries themselves are able to produce pixie dust, a glittery dust that induces hallucinogenic effects upon anyone who inhaled it, this pixie dust is often collected by others into an illegal drug. Jinnis have the ability to turn completely invisible. A common factor of the faeries is that they all have some kind of psychic powers and effects.

Common Etiquette Rules

Faeries of Scintillante are held to a much higher level of elegance and etiquette than most personae. This is due to the fact that faeries have had such an impact on Scintillante history and culture that no matter what class the faeri is, peasant or noble, they will be expected to be kind, graceful and thoughtful to others.

History

Most faeries originate from the now defunct fairy empire which would be located in modern day Southern Scintillante. Since then numerous faeri tribes have sprung up and migrated to other continents across the globe and adopted their cultures. The highest faeri population exists in Scintillante.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Scintillish Faeries are held on a very high pedastal due to being famous in many children's stories in Coronae. Because of this, faeries often keep up the image of kind and graceful beings outside of the occasional faeri joining the militia.
Faeries and Psairins have long held relations with each other even before the fall of the former's kingdom. They will often happily engage in trade with any psairin they happen to meet on land or while floating over the ocean.
Faeries mostly avoid brutish looking species like orcs . At most they would exchange pleasantries and end the conversations there, at least they would turn and pretend not to see them. Of course there are many historical contradictions to this, such as the fact that Yakashas bear striking similarities to orcs despite their fae origin.
