In English, it has "Idiot's Guide to the Arcane" written on it. No one has been able to decode the word "Idiot" because it has never come up in any rare English scripts.

It has a spell put on it by the Arcanist that makes it automatically update every time a new spell is created.
If someone were to create a new spell even once, it would be added to the Codex.
