In the endless expanse of black, there was a great being. It could create anything it wanted, but not long after, its creations would be consumed by the black. The great being sacrificed itself and captured the essence of black within an immense body of rock, orbited by the great being's two eyes, the sun and moon. From this holy body of rock came the elements from its endless force of creation. Eventually life developed. Trees would drink the primordial waters, blessed with endless life and arcane power. From these primordial waters, animals would develop and evolve, spreading throughout the world. And the most intelligent of those animals were the Dwarves who would drink at the roots of the arcane trees. After many years of life developing, the world shattered from the force of the black within, turning the world into countless islands spread throughout the vast skies. After the disaster, the dwarves were in disarray. Their tunnels were broken apart thoroughly. And so, with their vast quantities of metal underground, they would forge nails of steel and great chains of cobalt to link the islands together. However, their forging ignited the very roots of their arcane trees, creating a blaze so fierce it would summon forth a god of magma known as Vryhmm. The god rampaged across the land, burning all that could be found, until it was bound by the cobalt chains of the dwarves, after only hours, Vryhmm had burned itself away into nothing, and from Vryhmm's corpse, humans crawled out. The humans are a race that spreads and conquers much like fire. They are more intelligent and prolific than the dwarves, but the soul of a human is often selfish.   Humans have conquered the world many times after their invention of airships. But these many great empires often crumble to nothing, leaving little behind but their overgrown ruins. In our time, there are several nations of mankind. Aldorn, the oldest and mightiest nation. Those of Aldorn are reclusive, never sharing their secrets of greatness. Taragance, the most technologically advanced and daring kingdom. Its 4 provinces all work together like clockwork. Taragance's 4 leaders are known as the lords of iron for their production. Taragance and Aldorn pledge to protect each other only when absolutely necessary. Swordrun, a fierce empire born from war. Their soldiers are particularly effective, as their lineage is of trained mercenaries favored by the lords of iron. Inesson, a religious kingdom which prays that it will rain for long enough that the world will flood. Inesson and Taragance are in a war that seems eternal. Dawnfire, a city state of pirates. Surprisingly, Dawnfire is one of the few nations who adopted democracy. Their signature windcutter airships have a blade of hardened steel as the keel, allowing them to tear apart the balloons of enemies with a ram.
