The Paladins of Kor

Perhaps the most powerful organization in Osfilia, the Paladins of Kor, or the Kori as they are known, follow a tradition so ancient that it can be traced to the very foundations of civilization.
Located in the geographical center of Osfilia, Kor is thought by many to be the first ever human city. Over a millennia this city grew to become the first kingdom, titling itself “The Ancient and Everlasting Kingdom of Kor”. It was not to be everlasting however, as after centuries of infighting and attacks from rising nations; it fell, and became lost to time.
Yet one tradition from the kingdom remains, that of the Kori Paladins. During its height, the Kori protected the Kingdom of Kor and its citizens. They were warriors, teachers, healers, diplomats, and whatever else the kingdom required of them. Once the Kingdom fell, and the city became nearly uninhabited, the Paladins disassociated themselves with their former masters, so as not to be tied to the downfall of any one kingdom.
Because of that, the order remains as powerful as ever.
Yet, there are many who do not see this as a good thing. While the majority of the Paladins are helpful and a force for good in Osfilia, there are many who wield their secret powers for personal gain. In fact, it is a well spread rumor that the Storm King himself was once a Paladin of Kor, before succumbing to the temptations of dark magic.
While the leadership for the Kori is still located in the ruined city of Kor, their control is tenuous at best. Many splinter factions have risen in the past decades, partially due to the disastrous results of the Migration War with the Kar Dargin. Though their numbers were thinned by the long wars, the Paladin’s remain a powerful force, and were directly responsible for the defeat of the Storm King’s minions.
On one thing all Paladins agree: the undead are a scourge to be wiped from the face of Osfilia. Any Paladin will immediately lend aid to those threatened or attacked by the undead, and they will lead hunting parties or even entire armies at the mere mention of zombies, ghouls or other undead creatures.
