The Crystal University

Legend has it that the Crystal University earned its name after developing the technique for infusing crystals with magical energy. This discovery led to an era of advancement that included the construction of Golems and powering the great airships of Osifilia thatwere so critical during the Sky Wars. The trio of massive floating crystalline towers at the University’s center may also have something to do with the name. Magic users who are accepted into the Crystal University are guaranteed two things - a difficult time at school and a position of power wherever they end up after graduating, should they survive.
The towers each house one of the Great Magical Colleges - College Practicum, College Bellicus and College Salutaris. Students are required to learn the basics of each discipline from each College, but will most likely specialize in one on the road to graduation.

College Practicum

Teaches primarily gem and crystal working. How to identify gems and crystals, how to alter them, how to combine them and how to set them. The school also teaches runework, for example how to reinforce a hull or barrier, how to set sanctuaries and other magical barriers. Anything that has a practical use that doesn’t fall directly into the schools of war or healing is typically taught at the college practicum.

College Bellicus

Teaches warfare and offensive magic. A magic user has access to tactics and theories that are different from a non-magical commander, so this school specializes in preparing its students for command. Mainly, however, it teaches how to attack and defend with magic. Great student tournaments are held each semester which attract viewers from all over Osfilia, with no small amount of betting and scouting from various organizations going on.

College Salutaris

Teaches magical healing and support. Here students learn how to create healing items, potions, scrolls and other useful healing items for magic users and non-magic users alike. During the student tournaments each semester the students of Salutaris are often scouted for their ability to bring competitors back from the brink of death.
