Djöfulsins skarð

Djöfulsins skarð, meaning The Devil's Pass, is one of the routes into the Kitsune homeland that isn't blocked by mountains. Many have described this fjord in particular to be stunning, especially during the Dancing Heavens event. Inspite of how beautiful Djöfulsins skarð might look, it didn't get named The Devil's Pass for nothing. Entering Djöfulsins skarð from Raider territory will give you a nice look at twin watchtowers guarding both sides of the fjord, each carved out of stone to form the faces of oni with massive cannons sticking out of the eyes. A chain of similar watchtowers run down the length of the fjord to prevent any intrusion. It has been observed that when it gets too dark to see, a massive chain sheet is pulled out of the water to block off the entrance. Not much is known about the aquatic life in Djöfulsins skarð due to the afore mentioned defenses keeping any expedition teams out. The leader of the Berdamon, the Shogun, has made it clear that unless a ship is flying the flag of the Emperor themself, it will be destroyed. Thus leading to the Emperor declaring that Djöfulsins skarð is under Berdamon rule and that any harm inflicted upon an invader will be classified as a lawful act of defense. The topic of ownership over the fjord has sparked a slight bit of controversy with the Raiders on the topic of travel. Approximately four miles past the entrance of Djöfulsins skarð there is a split, one path goes directly into the kitsune homelands and the other leads into the open ocean close to very fertile waters. The reason for the controversy is that the path leading into the ocean acts as a shortcut, shortening a journey that would usually take a full day of travel down to just six hours. The Raiders claim that by preventing them from accessing Djöfulsins skarð negatively impacts their ability to feed their people. Though, one Raider clan that has always been able to find common ground with the Berdamon has been able to gain exclusive rights to use Djöfulsins skarð for travel. At the moment, this clan is trying to get access for the other Raider clans.
