Azukain Lemon

The Azukain Lemon is a citrus fruit native to the land it's named for. It serves as the national fruit, as a symbol of the monarchy, and as a major economic staple for the country. It is notably larger than most lemons and has a sweeter taste comparable to strawberries. It also is a much richer gold color than the average lemon.

Genetics and Reproduction

The seeds of the Azukain Lemon are notably bigger but less plentiful. This makes it especially useful for vodka and lemonade as the seeds are much easier to pick out with much less to remove.

Ecology and Habitats

The Azukain Lemon grows in the more tropical south western region of Skolotoi known as Azukai. Its resilience to the cold and the generally consistent temperature of Azuaki makes the lemon able to be harvested year round. This has made it a major staple of the Skolotoi economy in the 20th century.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

It is said to have sweeter juices than normal lemons and there are urban legends that lemonade was in fact an Azukain invention. Lemon farms are the largest suppliers of crops in Azukai. The largest good produced by is Skolotoi from lemonade bottling plants, the latter of which is very common in the empire. Azukai is the largest exporter of lemons to Eastern Europe and their lemonade is the most common soft drink in the country. Lemon vodka was also a personal favorite of many an Skolotoin before it was banned by King Alexander II in 1889. It is said that this was a major rallying cry used by leaders in the early days of the Warrensburg Revolt. The Federation has also restarted mass production of authentic Azukain lemon vodka through St. Paul Brewery, though many have complained of its watery taste.

Average Height

The Azukain lemon tree is somewhat more bush than a normal tree like in shape and on average grows from five to seven feet, making it ideal for farming.
