Wall Segment

The walls which the dome of Skeyer are comprised of are high tech pieces of machinery that keep the entire city from collapsing and being destroyed under the immense pressure of the sea waters it is submerged underneath. The wall itself is built into multiple segments- one larger segment to be kept under the care of the district that it resides in, and many smaller sections that are managed by teams of workers belonging to the district. Each segment is just as important as the rest, and any one segment experiencing even the slightest malfunction could lead to the destruction of all of Skeyer. As such, the wall is built in three layers- a primary unit that directly handles the bulk of the sea pressure, an auxiliary unit which manages excess pressure points that aren't being properly managed by the primary unit, and an emergency unit which acts as a last resort in the event that any of the other units malfunction. Wall mechanics risk their lives daily with the heavy machinery to maintain their functions, treading dangerously close to industrial springs, gear-lock mechanisms, hydraulics, pneumatic pumps, and the likes.
