Ekonian Camp

Located in the outer perimeter of entrance district is the Ekonian Camp, where the Ekonians have been permitted to stay while they reside in Skeyer. It is situated as close to the entrance tunnel as it possibly can be without interfering with the infrastructure of the walls or the tunnel, and is plotted out rather loosely so that more spaces for inhabitants can be set up, moved, or reconfigured on the fly as the Ekonians extend their stay longer and longer, becoming more and more comfortable in Skeyer. Comprised mostly of huts and tents made from stray sheet metal, pipes, rock, unused glass, and old machine hulls, the slums here are even less suitable for residence than the residences of the serfs of this district. Despite the disheveled hovels, the Ekonians make do with the place by using their Essence to spruce it up with plant life that provides free food to the public within reach of it their lowest vines and branches, much like an overgrown ruin.

Though this campsite is made for the Ekonians to reside in, many of the district's residents come to visit the space to check out the Ekonians who live there, to receive access to Essence by the Scepters they provide, to be taught how to use them both responsibly, and to hear of what the surface is like. As such, the camp has become a new cultural hub and space of distribution of information and rumors. All of Skeyer has their eyes on the camp and is interested to see what else they have to offer, or if their presence will disturb the order any more than it already has.

Demographics

Most of the Ekonians are of various ethnicity, although they are all joined in the same scientific and exploratory endeavor down to the depths of the ocean to retrieve the people of Skeyer. None of them are especially wealthy or of noble descent, though everybody has advanced experience with Scepters and Essence. While some Ekonians have more experience with exploration and long journeys like this, others are more academic and offer their expertise with Essence to the less knowledgeable.
