The Skandi

The Skandi, are a tough sea faring, raiding, warrior people seen as barbarians by some of the other more "sophisticated" people of the world, and seen as conquering God Emperors by others.
They hail from the mostly frozen mountainous islands that make up the continent of Skandia.
Theirs is a hard fought life, where the earth is hard, and the growing season short. They have turned to raiding and trading as a supplementary means of income. it wasn't until they reached the continent of Vallsgard that they found abundantly fertile lands. There they found the city of Oldwood, a City of pyramids, redwoods, and treehouses spread throughout a bustling city. This was the life the Emperor Olaf wanted for his people, and after returning home, he and his advisors devised a plan. The plan to attack was carried out when the spring released the frozen straits from its icy grip and olaf loaded every ship he had with every able bodied warrior and made for Oldwood with conquest in his heart, and a future for his people in his dreams. The inhabitants of Oldwood weren't used to this type of armed agression and were easily defeated. On that day. The Skandi Empire was born, at its helm, The God's Emperor Olaf.
