Session 40 - Time to Find Out

On entering Castle Ravenloft we encounter a group of grotesques that are unhappy to see us. With Ryden instilling fear in them and great team effort we are able to move on up the stairs and into the throne room in short order. We proceed along our planned route, but get trapped in a room that has a statue with a countdown......when we finally give up and let the timer expire the secret door opens and we continue to the stairs leading up to the heart. Upon reaching the heart Bull has his echo destroy it while the rest of us protect him from the vampire spawns that show up to protect it. As we are dealing with the Rahadiin shows his ugly mug. We put the hurt on him until he bolts. We give chase until Bull says we should just go after Strahd, so we turn around and find Strahd waiting for us back at the level the heart was on. He monologues for a bit and ends with an invitation for us to finally meet our fates. We head to the top of the tower and begin the end.
