Mercenary Guild

The Mercenary Guild is responsible for most mercenary and independent contracts in Aondair and is considered a neutral party in all contracts. They have an office in most cities and towns and is known to the most secure method for contracts.      

Membership Benefits


1) A member has access to occasional room and board (max 3 nights per month).
2) A member of the guild has access to the guild's quartermaster for selling of items.
3) A member has access to the guilds quartermaster special stock.
4) A member has access to guild lawyer consultation and representation.
  Membership Fees: 10 gp per year plus 5% of all guild contracts.  

Contract Types

Closed: Closed Contracts are contracts that are only given to a single party or individual.
Exclusive: Exclusive Contracts are contracts that means the employee works for the employer only.
Open: Open Contracts are contracts that are open for anyone to pursue, typical open contracts are bounties on people, items or creatures.
Retainer: Retainer Contracts are a type of semi-exclusive contract that also allows the parties to also take open contracts as long as the employer's services are prioritized.
Guild Contracts
A guild contract is binding to both sides of the contract until it is fully completed. The employer is responsible for paying the 10% contract fee for the contract.   1) If all parties of a contract desire to dissolve a contract it can be dissolved without penalty. Note All guild fees are still required to be paid in full, split evenly between the parties.
2) If one party dissolves a contract before it is completed without just cause that party is responsible for all guild fees related to the contract. In addition if the employer is the party that dissolves the contract in this case they are required to pay out the contract in full. If the employee is the party that dissolves the contract they are required to repay all payments, and compensation for all in kind payments received from the employer as well as all guild fees for the contract.
3) If any party involved in a contract betrays their contract the party that betrayed the contract is responsible for all fees involved in the contract as well as a penalty of 10 times the total value of the contract which is to be split evenly between the betrayed party and the guild.
4) Any person with a debt owed to the guild has three months to pay the guild all debts owed unless other arrangements are made. If the debt is not paid the guild will issue its own contract for collection of the debt and all costs of the contract will be added to the debt.
