Glasstaff

Many millennia ago there was an angel in the service of the god Kith'Sai who broke his oaths to his lord to take vengeance upon an enemy and her followers. In punishment for the crimes the angel committed in his quest for vengeance the angel was cast down and imprisoned deep within Lythael.
Centuries ago the angel, changed from its time upon Lythael managed to escape his prison and flee to Aondair. To aid in his escape he forged a powerful artifact, a staff of glass from the very prison that contained him and parts of his own soul.  This staff contained enormous power and ensured he could never be again imprisoned while it existed.
