Tarrlo - WT

Tarrlo are huge bird or reptile-like creatures that walk on the elbows and knees of their four huge wings. They do not possess a true beak but have a small beak-like tusk at the tip of their mouths which they use for breaking open the geodes that they are born within.
Their lightweight scales become weighed down with glittering fragments of crystals from their nesting sites which they remove by bathing in nearby water - changing the colour of the water and filling it with tiny sparkling motes.
They possess feathers along their backs, tails, necks and heads (including impressive fans on their heads and at the end of their long tails).
Tarrlo settlements are built on the sides of cliffs and are hard to access for non-flying or climbing species but they do occasionally also live in ground-based cities with a more mixed population.
