Phootauf - WT

The Phootauf are composed of the bones of dead creatures and clouds of magical gas. They are eternally curious and easily bored - which has led them to producing amazing inventors.
Their reproductive method is complex. In order to reproduce they have to migrate back to the place they originated - within the ash desert. They have to scour the deserts to find bones to create their child, meet with others and swap their own body’s bones with them before using some of their own bones (original and swapped) to produce a child. If they can figure out the correct bones to use and the right way to arrange them then they will become surrounded by a cloud of magical gas overnight and animate. The child will take years and a lot more bone finding quests to raise to the age of majority.
