Phoaboros - WT

Phoaboros resemble eels on earth but can reach up to twice the length and one and a half times the weight of the largest eel alive on earth. In addition they possess a main of delicate tendrils that they use to manipulate tools, along with their dextrous tails.   They can breathe both on land and underwater but prefer to be in or near water most of the time as they find movement easier and less tiring. When on land a thick coating of mucus prevents their skin from drying out too much.   They reproduce by laying a large number of eggs in calm, warm saltwater which are then fertilised and left to their own devices. Most of the fertilised eggs will never produce an adult individual but a few will make it. The siblings that survive become very close and often will travel out into the world together as a family unit, once they reach two years old and can survive outside their spawning pool.   Two millennia ago a Phoaboros empire ruled the seas and many coastal lands but their empire eventually fell. These days they are known for their legacy of incredible monuments - both at sea and on land.   Interestingly Phoaboros cuisine made a huge impact globally and to this day a large number of fast food shops serve Phoaboros food.
